ECONOMICS
The Department of Economics was established in 1968 alongside the founding of the College. Initially, in 1972, it introduced a double major Bachelor's degree program in BA Economics and History. In 1989, the course was bifurcated, leading to the inception of two distinct programs: B.A. Economics and B.A. History.
Moreover, the Department provides complementary courses for B.A. History students. Since its inception, the Department has been committed towards promoting high quality and relevant teaching.The Department has carved out a niche in the Economics and many of its alumni have distinguished themselves in both academic and administrative spheres in national and international level. The Department of Economics is the hub of a number of academic and co-curricular activities.
