HISTORY
The Department of Statistics of Nehru Arts and Science College Kanhangad established in 1978 with Mathematics and Statistics double main Course. Impressed by the good results brought out by the department over the successive years, the management started M.Sc. Statistics as the first Post Graduate course of the college in 1984.
The Research Centre in Statistics was started in the year 2001 as the first research Centre in the subject, under Kannur University. The double main degree course bifurcated into two single main courses – Mathematics and Statistics in 2002. The department has been offering complementary courses for B.Sc. Mathematics and Integrated M.Sc. Computer Science with Specialization in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning
