Code of Conduct

  1. Class hours are from 09.30 am to 03.30 pm (09.30 am to 04.00 pm on Fridays).
  2. Students should maintain punctuality and regularity in all activities.
  3. Students should follow academic calendars of College and University.
  4. Students should pay the tuition and other fees/registration and examination fees in time at the College and University.
  5. The college identity card should mandatorily be worn while on campus.
  6. Students should maintain strict silence during the Examination hours. Students should avoid the use of corridors of examination halls.
  7. The use of mobile phones during class hours is forbidden. Students can use mobile phones for communication purposes alone during interval time and lunch break.
  8. Ragging of any kind is strictly prohibited. No student shall indulge in ragging under any pretext and resort to any form of intimidation, wrong confinement, physical harm or injury or any kind of annoyance or abusive language or touch upon communal, religious, linguistic and such other aspects. Students who indulge in such activities are liable to be punished as per the law of the State.
  9. Students are not permitted to be in the campus one hour before and after the college working hours. Students should leave the campus at the end of the class/library working hours. Those who remain in the campus for any activity should obtain permission from the Principal.
  10. Entry of two-wheelers without a helmet is strictly prohibited. Entry is permitted for parking purposes only. Parking should be done near the canteen and the vehicles should not be brought inside the campus and the College ground.
  11. Students should refrain from pasting posters, writing and drawing on walls, disfiguring structures and defacing walls, equipment, furniture etc. Fine will be imposed if such activities are noticed. No permanent fixtures must be put up anywhere in the campus.
  12. A give and take respect with teaching and non teaching staff of the College, should be maintained.
  13. The behaviour of students in the campus should be in a civilized manner and in accordance with the behaviour acceptable to the society as a whole.
  14. Students should avoid the usage of single-use plastics in the campus. Those who bring lunch should avoid plastic carry bags.
  15. Only degradable waste should be put in the waste bin near the wash points.
  16. All the lights and fans must be switched off whenever the students leave the class.
  17. The students should protect the greenery in the campus.
  18. The library and the computer centre must be utilized during free hours.
  19. The common places in the campus are under CCTV surveillance.
  20. The safety of personal belongings will be the responsibility of the owners.
  21. Consumption of alcohol and narcotics and smoking are strictly prohibited in the campus.
  22. The College follows formal dress code. The students should follow rules of modesty in dress. They should avoid dresses with offensive writings and drawings, banyans, sleeveless items etc. in the campus. In laboratories, the dress code suggested by the Departments must be followed.
  23. Students should not wander in the campus during working hours except during intervals and lunch break.
  24. The students are not permitted to convene meetings of any kind anywhere in the campus or set up entertainments or organise social functions or collect funds without obtaining prior permission from the Principal.
  25. Prior permission must be obtained from the Department of Physical Education and the Principal for utilizing the college ground and other sports facilities. Entry to other areas other than academic buildings will be only after obtaining permission from the concerned staff.
  26. Electronic and electrical equipments including sound systems should not be used in the campus without obtaining prior permission from the Principal. Otherwise, the equipment will be seized and a fine will be levied.
  27. Photography and videography using devices of any kind including mobile phones is not allowed in the campus without the prior permission of the Principal.
  28. While obtaining TC, the identity card is to be surrendered to the College.
  29. During pandemics, the protocol related to the disease issued by the Government or authorities should be strictly followed.
  30. The students should not leave the campus in between working hours without permission from the tutor/HoD.
  31. Defaming the College, the Management, staff or students through social media is strictly prohibited. Violation will be seriously dealt with.
  32. The students participating in sports and arts activities in and outside the campus should obey the rules and regulations of the College and the hosting institution. Students participating in study tours and field trips should obey the rules of the College and the places visited.
  33. The students should keep silence in the library and should not damage the library books, journals and periodicals.
  34. Students should show sympathy and concern for others and treat all persons equally, fair and just.
  35. Students should participate in sports and arts activities and the activities of the NSS, NCC and other clubs as much as possible.
  36. Students are advised to utilize the facilities like photocopying centre, students’ cooperative store and canteen and avoid unauthorized centres offering similar facilities.
  37. Any notification published on the College website www.nasc.ac.in or Notice boards shall be considered as having been brought to the notice of the college community.
  38. The behaviour of the students should be in accordance with all the policies, rules and regulations of the College, University, Government and the UGC. Students should act within the law and do not engage in any activity or behaviour that is likely to bring the College into disrepute.
  39. Students should not follow the unacceptable behavior which includes:
    1. Violence against another person including threats to hurt, indecent, threatening, intimidating or offensive behaviour or language including that of a sexualised nature.
    2. Abusive comments including those that relate to sex, religion, sexuality and race, whether in person or online.
    3. Possessing, supplying or selling any controlled drug or psychoactive substance in the campus.
    4. Impersonation of others.
    5. Misuse of IT facilities.
    6. Serious plagiarism.
  40. Any matters or issues not covered by the forgoing rules shall be decided by the Principal inconsultation with the College Council.
  41. The authority of the Principal in matters of discipline is final.
