Description: Large columnar trees with pendent branches. Leaves ovate-lanceolate, tapering to a fine point, shining above, margins undulate. Flowers yellowish-green, numerous, umbellate on short leafless tuberculate branches. Fruit etaerio of 4 – 8 ovoid berries, purple when ripe.

Uses: Grown as ornamental plant. Often planted in parks and in front of buildings as avenue tree.
