Description: Medium-sized deciduous tree, with light grey exfoliating bark. Leaves simple, alternate, oblong-elliptic, closely set and overlapping on deciduous branchlets. Flowers greenish-yellow, in axillary fascicles. Fruit drupe. Seed trigonous.

Uses: Planted in gardens for their edible fruits. Fruits are used for pickles and in medicine.
