Description: Slow growing small palm, with brown to grey coloured trunk. Leaves costapalmate, fan-shaped to orbicular, dark glossy green, about 60-100 cm in diameter. Petioles thin and spiny. Flowers whitish-yellow, in compound spadix which is usually longer than fronds. Fruit drupe, red when ripe.

Uses: Grown as an ornamental palm.
