Description: Small spreading tree without aerial roots. Leaves simple, alternate, broadly ovate or suborbicular, pubescent beneath. Figs turbinate, peduncled with longitudinal ridges, on short leafless branches from the trunk, pubescent, purplish or reddish when ripe.

Uses: Cultivated for their edible figs.
