Description: Moderate-sized evergreen tree. Leaves simple, divided about ¼ the way down into 2 rounded lobes. Flowers purple or deep pink, in terminal and axillary few flowered corymbose racemes. Fruit flat pod, with 12-16 seeds.
Uses: Cultivated as an ornamental tree. Bark and roots are medicinal.
